Established in 1953
Our local chapter began nearly 70 years ago to give VA federal government employees the valuable resources they deserve. Built by existing members to help new members, we give you the chance to come alongside fellow federal workers who all believe in the same vision: to make a positive difference in the world.

Who We Are
We’re a union for federal employees that advocates on your behalf to ensure you have a voice on Capitol Hill. At AFGE Local 498, we’re a part of a larger organization that represents over 700,000 federal and D.C. government workers nationwide and overseas.
Our organization is highly involved in changing the course of politics that affect the lives of our members by lobbying the White House and working in agencies that wield the change we want to see.
